Prof. Mikhail Slipchenko is a Research Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. His research activities are focused on the development of laser systems and spectroscopic methods in the area of combustion diagnostics, as well as linear and nonlinear optical spectroscopy and microscopy, including Raman and coherent Raman techniques. Dr. Slipchenko has developed a number of pulse-burst laser systems for high-speed linear and non-linear optical diagnostics. Dr. Slipchenko is also a Senior Research Scientist at Spectral Energies, LLC, where his work is focused on developing commercial high-repetition-rate high-energy burst-mode laser systems for reacting and non-reacting flow diagnostics. Before joining Spectral Energies, LLC Dr. Slipchenko was a Research Scientist in the Biomedical Engineering department at Purdue University from 2008-2012 and worked on the development of high-resolution, label-free chemical imaging techniques based on coherent Raman scattering. He was a post-doctoral research associate in the Departments of Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering at Iowa State University from 2005-2008 after earning his Ph.D. in 2005 from the University of Southern California. Dr. Slipchenko is a co-author of 83 peer-reviewed journal publications, 3 book chapters, and 8 patents.
